“Breakable”
Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts? Just a cage of rib bones and other various parts.
This is a cute song, from a really cute girl. I didn’t pick the song because she was cute — I learned she was cute only after I was in like with this song. I like it a lot.
I’ve noticed a recurring theme in my musical tastes lately — Repetitive notes. It started with Rufus Wainwright the other day. A lot of music I like a highly repetitive motif, I can’t help it. I hope you like this song.
Stay tuned. Tomorrow is Sunday, and that means I’ll be mixing things up a bit.

unfortunately, i’m going to have to vote “no” on this one. The lyrics are sweet, but the song is too dull and the vocalist is too plain for me. i was bored nearly to death.
:X that’s only strike 1 in my book though, if my opinion counts for anything….
i would have to disagree i quite llike ingrid’s sound, she has an elasticity to her voice that you dont find often in the more mainstream artists. Have you ever heard of Eva Cassidy? she has a pretty amazing voice too…
I’m with Mary, nothing special or different about her.
I don’t think you can compare the voice-quality of Ingrid to Eva Cassidy. Eva Cassidy possessed a warmer tone and a larger range…but we might not have heard Ingrid find her voice yet…as I’ve heard some of her keyboarding-in-dank-basements stuffs (even churchy songs,) and her voice was so-o high and kinda high school choir-y and I quite agree that her voice now is better.
Her lyrics strike me as kind of high-school dear diary, pain of my heart, puppy dog crush kind of stuff– but there’s a place in this world for that too, and lots of little mall-going kids for whom her music will be a salve to the bumps of learning how to date.
My friend in the city is now engaged to the last guy Ingrid dated/lived with…and hearing (non-detailed) details of their relationship, I bet much of her first CD was about him. Sucks for my girl to have to listen to all that whiny little girl imature stuff…good for t.v. though. I predict Ingrid makes a boatload of cash off of soundtracks and such…am not surprised that the KING of emo-brooklyn stuff has caught on to her– Zach Braff.
i love ingrid! she’s a very sweet person. and her voice is fun.
and she has a friend there in yankee-land named http://www.myspace.com/williamfitzsimmons
(minus the myspace stuff) who has a great acoustical sound and a very nice beard, i might add.
