Seven Mary Three – Lucky

Seven Mary Three
“Lucky”
So I’m in a slump lately. I’ve not had time to seek out new music. For this reason I dig deep into my bag of goodies for this one. 7M3 was pretty mainstream in the last half of the 1990’s, but they didn’t have a lot of huge hits. I’m not even sure Lucky was made a single. I used to play this song on guitar. I don’t anymore. There’s a story behind that but I won’t go into it here. It makes me think of New Orleans, among other things and it is a passionate song – Even after 10 years.

From the Album: Rock Crown
This is a sentimental song for me and my husband. There have been many a night that we have layed in bed and this song comes up on the mixed CD he made me five years ago when we were dating. I think we all want to be lucky and keep our tongues tied at times. It speaks volumes of truth.
This song is probably the best from SM3. I remember listening to this in HS. A g/f of mine at the time liked it, made me listen, and I liked the slower side of SM3. The rest of the album is pretty good, probably their best work. Mean Mr. Mustard, I think I know that guy.
This could be a huge hit for a country music artist. Not saying I don’t like it, but I can so see this becoming way popular that way.
