Tannahill Weavers
“Capernaum”
Leave it to me to find a truly sad scottish song.
Here you have it. I will be indebted to anyone who helps me out in this genre, for I am rather ignorant of music and artists of Scotland/Ireland.

I’m OUT. I worked at an Irish bar in Dallas for a few years, and had to endure the horrid attempts at American’s pretending they were Irish and had fake accents and everything.
Sorry, this kinda music gives me the heeby-jeebies now….
were you trying to imply that the Tannahill weavers are americans? In case anyone is reading this, know that the weavers are from Scotland, and not ‘pretending’ to be Americans.
No, I was refering to the choads that used to play at The Tipperary Inn, where I was a waitress/bartender. Not implying any of these people aren’t really from there. You didn’t read the sentence right, CHILL….;)
Ok, so it’s not actually Irish or Scottish, but the Maritime east coast of Canada has alot of excellent Celtic music, with it’s own unique styles and conventions.
I don’t know exactly what you are into, but in my book, the best East-Coast Celtic music is Great Big Sea. It’s extremely energetic, a bit rock-y or pop-y in some places, but just amazing through and through. They are truly one of the best bands out there to see live, I HIGHLY recommend seeing one of their shows if you get the chance.
here’s some links for your enjoyment, of Great big sea!:
